About

The dirt crew that publishes its prices

Cabrillo Excavation is an excavation contractor service for ADU site prep, grading, trenching and pool removals serving San Diego and its east and south county neighbors. The work is coordinated from San Diego and dug by licensed California crews who move dirt for a living, with every quote priced off the public cost guide.

Why the prices are on the website

Because excavation is the least shoppable trade in construction. Most people buy it once or twice in a life, the quotes arrive as single mysterious numbers and the buyer has no way to know whether $14,000 for a pad is fair or padded. We would rather you arrive knowing the machine costs $150 to $300 an hour and an ADU package runs $8,000 to $25,000, spend the site walk on your actual ground and receive a quote that reconciles line by line with a page anyone can read. People shopping us against other bids say the table made every quote easier to judge. Good. That is the point.

What we believe about dirt work

Probe before quoting, because the ground does not care what the estimate assumed. Mark before digging, every time, since 811 is the law and also just sense. Compact in lifts and test to spec, because a pad is a promise to the building that sits on it. Tell owners when the dirt can stay and save them the trucking. And leave the site raked, because how a dig ends is the part everyone remembers.

If that matches what you want done to your ground, start with the cost guide or call (619) 975-1546. The site walk is free, and so is the honest answer when your project turns out not to need us.
